Watt-a-Light Spotlight: San Diego's historic tall ship 'Bill of Rights'
This magnificent 136' gaff-rigged schooner is located in the south San Diego Bay surrounded by San Diego’s beautiful Marine Reserve. Currently sailing from the South Bayfront Sailing Association at Chula Vista, a small army of volunteers have been carefully restoring this great tall ship originally built in 1971.
When it came time to replace the old incandescent lighting, they were very happy to find and upgrade to our Watt-a-Light LED lighting, ultimately replacing 30 light fixtures with our 5 Watt 32 Volt DC Corn Bulb.
Since 1986, the Bill of Rights has been an invaluable tool to help change and better the lives of young students, Naval Sea Cadets, at-risk youth, and many other program participants through a variety of fun and learning opportunities. The programs cover a myriad of topics such as Maritime history, marine biology and ecology, sailing techniques, safety and navigation, environmental studies, marine wildlife, and leadership skills.
